French Sign Language
What is a Mountain Guide? It is someone who supervises hiking groups and makes them discover the wealth of natural environments.I wanted to free myself from the communication barrier that separated me from hard-of-hearing or deaf people by learning the French Sign Language (LSF).
I reached level A2.1 (according to the CEFR: the Common European Framework of Reference) and I will reach level A2.2 by June 2014. Quite a challenge I'm going to take up!
niveau-a2-1
Providing specific guided walks for deaf people, what does that mean? It means adapting outings, but how?
- by limiting the number of participants to communicate better and safer,
- by taking more time to explain and comment on the landscapes,
- by being even more attentive than usual to the well-being of each participant.
